The planning application to demolish 22 garages in Southfields Court, Sutton Common Road and erect a detached two storey building with eight 1 bedroomed self contained flats has been refused by Sutton Council.

The application was refused as the demolition of the existing garages would result in significant loss in car parking provision on the site for existing and future occupants and would result in an intensification of use on the site. As such the proposal would have an adverse impact on the public highway and increase pressure to the on-street car parking within the surrounding area.
