Planning application for new houses on Garden Suburb allotment site

by Sam, Ruth and Chris on 11 March, 2017

Residents in the area will recall that a planning application was submitted earlier this year to build houses on the former allotments site in Sutton Garden Suburb, between Greenhill, Woodend, and Aultone Way.  This application was put on hold as it was incorrectly described.  This has now been put right and the application is now live.

It is an application for the:

Erection of two 5 – bedroomed, four 4 – bedroomed and two 3 – bedroomed two storey houses with roof accommodation together with 21 car parking spaces, vehicular access from Woodend and associated landscaping. Provision of open space and allotment plots.

The application can be viewed here.

Any comments should be sent to the Planning office, preferably through the Council web site by 27 March.  If you already commented in January, these comments will still be valid and don’t need to be resubmitted.  As this application is a departure for the Local Plan (the allotments site is protected as Urban Green Space) the application will need to decided by the Planning Committee, rather than by delegation to Council Officers.  The most likely Planning committee dates are: 29 March, 19 April, 10 May.

Please also let us know what you think.
