Lib Dem Sutton Council has put in place extensive planting in the grassed areas in Grennell Road opposite Greenshaw School to deter litter, and making a much needed improvement to the landscape.
The scheme was requested by local residents and funded by the Sutton Local Committee. Committee Chair Cllr Marlene Heron said: ‘There was a problem with the area attracting litter, and I am pleased we have been able to do this. We consulted with the local residents’ group on the type of planting, and I hope that the excellent planting scheme will show how much we all care for our local area.’
Local residents have agreed to look after the shrubs, in the future.
