The Recycling Centre at Kimpton Parkway is for residents to recycle and dispose of their household waste. The disposal of commercial waste by traders is not permitted.   The introduction of an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system has indicated that the service is being abused by traders, with some accessing the site dozens of times a month.

The council is trialling a system over the next 12 months that requires vans and large vehicles to pre-register a visit to the centre by 4pm the previous day, and to limit the number of visits to 12 per year. This will ensure that residents who only have access to a van or a large vehicle will still be able to access Kimpton to dispose of household waste and recycling.
