Sutton Heritage Week

Sutton Heritage Week is 16 to 22 September.

Come and join us to celebrate Sutton Town Centre’s heritage in a week-long schedule of free events, for all age groups to take part. This coincides with a number of events planned as part of the Open House London and Heritage Open Days. 

Key events include:

An event at St Nicholas Church showcasing the stories of the men and women who have left a legacy of art for the people of Sutton.

A free lunchtime organ recital at Sutton Baptist Church, supported by a Mezzo Soprano singer on Wednesday 18 September from 11:00 – 15:30.

Meet the Heritage Team at Sutton Central Library, on Thursday 19th September 2019 from 18:30 – 19:30, as they talk us through projects happening within archives, collections, and community engagement.

Sutton Town Centre Heritage Action Zone exhibition at Trinity Square, on Sat 21 September 
from 11:00 – 15:00 

Heritage Treasure Hunt at Trinity Square on Sat 21 September from 10:00 – 16:00, organised by
Sutton Civic Society for children to discover Sutton’s local heritage within walking distance of the High Street. 

‘Enjoy Sutton’ Heritage Day along Sutton High Street on Sat 21 September from 11:00 – 15:00 including vintage vehicles, period costumes, food and live music organised by Successful Sutton Business Improvement District and Enjoy Sutton.

Sutton High Street guided walk – start near cafe on Sutton Green on Sun 22 September from 10:00 – 12:00.  A guided linear walk through Sutton High Street looking at the 19th and 20th century shop fronts. (pre-booking required)

Sutton’s Social Suburbia guided walk – start atRussettings, 25 Worcester Road, Sutton, SM2 6PR on Sun 22 September 2019 from 13:00 – 15:00.  A guided linear walk looking at the development of Suttons Victorian suburbs. (pre-booking required)
