Aultone Way residents’ parking scheme to start on 3 August

by Sam, Ruth and Chris on 25 June, 2020

The Aultone Way Permit Parking Area, due to come into effect in April, but delayed by the pandemic, will now go live on Monday 3rd August, 2020. Residents in the area will be receiving a letter in the next couple of days. The PPA will be effective from 8am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday and during those hours all vehicles will be required to display a valid permit to park in the road in the permit area.  During the first two weeks, warning notices only will be issued to vehicles without a permit.

The area is bounded by the top and bottom of Aultone Way (junctions with Grennell Road and Rose Hill) and the junction of Woodend and All Saints Road. If you live in this area, you can apply for a permit online at https://www.sutton.gov.uk/parkingpermits

Residents who have already paid and received their permits will be sent a replacement permit, with a new expiry date of 31st July 2021, in the post. This will be sent to you automatically by the 15th July 2020.  Please retain your existing permit until the new one arrives, after which the original permit should be destroyed. You do not need to do anything further.

Residents who have submitted a permit application form but not yet received an offer of a permit will have their applications processed prior to the start date of the scheme. You will receive an email telling you how to accept the offer and make payment or, if the Council requires it, a request for further information.

Each household within the area is eligible for 50 free hours of visitor permit vouchers per annum. If your household has not received an allocation of free vouchers already they will be sent when you apply for your first permit. If you do not have a vehicle but wish to apply for your household’s free visitor vouchers then you can do this by filling in the online form or by downloading and returning this form.

The council’s updated position on parking enforcement is available on the Council’s website https://www.sutton.gov.uk/Covid-19

As with all new parking schemes, the operation of this new scheme will be monitored over the coming year.

Any queries can be directed to [email protected].

Other parking schemes, including the extension of the town centre CPZ to the rest of Benhilton Gardens, and the free parking bays in Rosehill Gardens and Longford Gardens are not expected to be in place until at least September. These schemes were all the subject of consultation in the last few years.

Before the lock down and after we have rang Sutton parking
about many car/vans on the double yellow line at entrance
to Aultone Way perpetrated by Rose Hill Garage overflow.
This has been very dangerous for us driving in from main
road.We ring Sutton Parking and woman says this garage
has history ,indeed it has, then she says wardens have to warn first ? So it goes on The bunch kids in this garage
are sticking two fingures at the residents who are mostly
elderly .You will have to police this properly in April or we
will not pay for our permits.

Before and on lock down not much has been done regarding
the parking on double yellow lines to entrance to Aultone Way perpetrated by Rose Hill Garage overflow. Many of us
have nearly had a near collision doing a right turn from main
road being stuck halfway across main road. The woman on
Sutton Parking says they must warn them first.
The kids in this garage are literaly sticking two fingers up
You will have to do better than this when the permits are
    in force
