The planning application to build nine house on the allotments between Greenhill and Woodend was due to be considered by the Planning Committee in early July, but was withdrawn as the proposal did not include provision for affordable housing. This is a requirement of the Local Plan. The applicant has subsequently submitted a report which claims that the inclusion of affordable housing would make the proposal unviable. As is usual in such cases, the Council is seeking an independent assessment of this view.
