Residents are helping keep their neighbourhood clean and tidy by using the Council’s Community Clean-up scheme.
The Council has responsibility for keeping our streets and parks tidy, but the government cuts to council funding over the last few years mean that leaf and litter sweeping is not frequent as we would all like.
You can use the Council’s Report It facility to ask that your road is given a sweep, or you can decide to help (possibly with your neighbours) help by doing it yourselves. The Council can:
● Provide equipment such as litter pickers, high visibility tabards, gloves and waste sacks
● Arrange for full bags to be collected at a pre-agreed location and time
Friends of our local parks groups regularly use this service and they would be very happy for you to join them on one of their regular litter picks on Sutton Green or Rosehill Park.
If you want to help clean up your area go online to fill in the form and get some sacks. You need to use the Council’s sacks if you want them collected.
