Still time to have your say about Sutton Common Road

by Sam, Ruth and Chris on 6 January, 2025

Residents who live in the EA polling district, this includes roads west of Angel Hill and east of the bypass (excluding those in Bushey Road, Bushey Lane, Vicarage Road, Deans Road, Rectory Road, The Green and Vale Road) should have received a letter from the council about the consultation to implement a 20mph speed limit along with changes to pedestrian crossings in Sutton Common Road.

The 20mph speed limit will cover roads in EA polling district that are not already covered by the limit already.

The proposals to changes of pedestrian crossings include the enlargement of the existing traffic island by the footbridge at Angel Hill and a kerb to kerb platform near Aysgarth Court.

Outside Sutton Common Station, there is a proposal to remove the central island at the zebra crossing and the crossing will be turned into a raised platform. The footway will also be widened.

More information, including maps of the proposals along with how to respond to the consultation can be found by clicking here. The consultation closes on Sunday 12 January.

It is important that you respond to the consultation if you live in the roads affected by the proposals whether you are for, against or neutral about the proposals so that the best decision for residents can be made going forward.
