The 20 mph limit, which was temporarily suspended when the Low Traffic Neighbourhood road closures were lifted is now back in force. The relevant Traffic Management Order has been published and comes into force on 1 June.

The order covers the roads to the east of Rosehill/ Angel Hill, as far as Benhill Road (as before).

In addition, the Council is to add more speed limit signs in the area in the coming weeks.

We are also pressing for a 20 mph speed limit in Sutton Common Road, given the problem of speeding traffic in that road.

Ward councillors have been in touch with the Police about enforcement of the limit, which is their responsibility, rather then the Council’s. They are planning to mount a Roadwatch campaign with hand-held speed cameras, so if you would like you road to be targeted, please let us know.
