Final statutory consultation with Residents about minor parking schemes

by Sam, Ruth and Chris on 22 September, 2021

The Council is now undertaking a final Traffic Management Order consultation on minor changes to parking arrangements in some parts of some roads.  These changes are where there are road safety and access concerns, or requests from residents.  The changes are:

  • Double yellow lines:
  • Short stretch in Benhill Wood Road outside and opposite the entrance to Benwood Court
  • Extending the line on the junction with Hurstcourt Road outside No. 42.
  • Extending the line at the junction with Chudleigh Gardens outside No. 17.
  • Providing a disabled bay adjacent to No. 120 Sutton Common Road, and moving the double yellow line from the odds side of St John’s Road to the evens side.
  • Outside No. 136 Sutton Common Road.

In addition there are proposals for free parking bays with single yellow lines in Rosehill Gardens, and Longford and Chudleigh Gardens.

To respond to the consultation, go to this link, download the papers including the maps, and click on the on-line link.  You will be asked whether or not you support the proposals (or neither) and to give additional comments.  You can also respond in writing to: Parking Strategy, Highways and Transport, London Borough of Sutton, 24 Denmark, Road, Carshalton, Surrey, SM5 2JG.

Definantly a great idea to impelment a parking controll scheme, this will deter parking abuse and provide a safer enviorment for the public and the road users.
