Residents in Aultone Way will be aware of the continuing problems of water pooling on the pavement at the bottom of the road since the pavement and grass verge improvements over a year ago. This resulted in some improvement works last spring, but the problems have persisted.
Council officers have recently been making regular visits to check these issues after the recent heavy rain. They have arranged for some minor resurfacing to prevent water from pooling on one section of the pavement.
Another issue they have identified is a BT cover plate which has sunk and is causing pooling. They are issuing BT with a section 81, defective private apparatus in the public highway notice, advising them about the problem and requiring them to amend the height of their chamber and plate to prevent water pooling at this point.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation
