Residents will be aware that Helena House, the now empty office block that was the Job Centre, was occupied by travellers last week.  The building is privately owned and it is the owners who have the responsibility of evicting trespassers.  The owners took action, supported by the police, and the Council assisted with the clear up.  Council officers have pressed the owners to improve the physical security of the site which has now been done.  We understand that the owners are interested in redeveloping the site, into a block of flats, so we will look out for a planning application.  We will be looking for a development which is sympathetic to the area given the close proximity to Sutton Green.
