Here is an update of what Sam and Ruth have been doing so far this spring which has included:

  • New birdsmouth (wide spaced) fencing installed on Bishops Close.
  • Fixed drains on Milton Road.
  • Attended the inauguration of the new Baitul Futuh Mosque extension in Morden.
  • Met the new police Borough Commander to discuss local problems.
  • New verge posts installed at the entrance of Montrose Gardens from Waverley Avenue to stop cars destroying the grass verge.
  • Raised resident concerns about crime at the recent Safer Neighbourhood Team ward panel and agreed to make vehicle crime a priority.
  • Attendeded the Friends of Rosehill Parks litter picks.
  • Attended a multi faith Iftar hosted by the Dialogue Society at Holy Family Catholic Church.
  • Continue to help residents with casework on various topics.

At March’s Scrutiny committee, Sam questioned representatives from Transport for London about proposed changes to bus services as a result of the bus consultation. Please do sign the petition against the reduction in frequency of the 213 bus by clicking here.

At Full Council on 24 April, we further outlined our position on ULEZ, deeming the Mayor of London’s proposals as unfair on Sutton’s residents and businesses during a cost of living crisis. Thank you to the members of the public who spoke.

The council have launched a petition which will be handed over to the Mayor of London. Over 4000 have already signed. Add your name by clicking here.

As always, our monthly surgeries continue on the second Saturday of the month at Sainsburys in Sutton High Street 11-12 noon. No appointment necessary.
